Wild Balance is a recognised leader in the contract culling industry; bringing hardworking, honest, motivated hunters striving for efficient and effective results.

The word ‘wild’ brings synonyms like unmanaged, fierce, unbroken …so to think of the wild as being balanced may seem contradictory, but ecosystems are well-balanced machinery – every change has a ripple change somewhere else. However, with the present global issues from climate change to biodiversity loss, we see the name as representing the little things we can do today to make a difference and renew the balance in our wild places.

Future Focus

Wild Balance sees itself as being a strategic leader in the industry; having a small, but highly effective team of specialized ungulate control and eradication hunters.

Our goals are:

For all our hunters to have well trained hunting dogs that have a reputation for being some of the best (hunt drive, nose, temperament) in the industry
To have the right gear for the job, including staying abreast of new technologies
To advance experience of staff through appropriate training for progression
To always be vigilant with Health and Safety and continue to foster a safe working environment
To continue to be involved in future eradication projects in New Zealand
To continuously strive in reducing our environmental footprint

What We Do

Wild Balance specializes in ungulate control; from consulting, planning and logistics to data collection and reporting. We are here to meet your objectives for your specific projects with knowledgeable hunters and competent dogs. We have experience across the board from ongoing control through to zero density and eradication, the use of judas individuals, thermal imaging, indicating, indicating-bailing, and bailing dogs. We also specialize in possum and feral cat control through the use of traps and poison.
